Granite Quarry
Approximately 150,000 tonnes of granite is extracted per annum and the material is processed in to aggregates for external sale and for use in our ready mixed concrete, block making, lintel and concrete collect plant.
Besides producing quarried ‘primary’ aggregates, we also recycle material from development sites to produce ‘secondary’ aggregates, suitable for reuse in some construction applications. Any inert residual materials that cannot be recycled will be used to restore previously worked areas of the quarry.
All aggregates are produced to BSEN 12620 and, uniquely for Jersey, our aggregates are 'non alkali-silica reactive' being the preferred aggregate for concrete in many high profile contracts such as the New Energy From Waste Plant and Airport Control Tower.
The Island’s requirement for minerals
